Counterfeiting: Anvisa bans Marroquina de Argan

Following a complaint from the company Elza Indústria e Comércio de Cosmético Ltda, the Brazilian National Sanitary Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) has decided to suspend Bio Cosmetic brand’s Moroquinan Argan.

The National Registry of Legal Entity (CNPJ) number as well as the technical details labelled on the product’s packaging mention it is a product from Elza Indústria e Comércio de Cosmético Ltda. However, the company claimed in the complaint they do not manufacture cosmetics with formaldehyde and that the product was counterfeited.

As a consequence, Anvisa has decided to seize the product, to ban and destroy it throughout the national territory

Resolution RE 455 of February 17, 2017 determines the seizure and destruction of Moroquinan Argan.
