Chemyunion launches MitoClean: Coconut water for a healthier skin

Chemyunion has developed MitoClean, a detoxifying ingredient for the skin derived from coconut water and containing vitamins and minerals.

According to Chemyunion, detoxification is a booming concept, with interest ranging from medical offices to laboratories in the personal care industry. It means the removal of all toxins from the body; not only those resulting from excessive drug use, but also from heavy metals, chemical additives and other toxins found in food, water and air, as well as the residual metabolic products produced by our body. The skin has an important role in the process, influencing lower reactivity to topical chemical compounds.

Detoxification is a vital cellular task and the process occurs within the mitochondria. Large amounts of energy are spent by the cells of the body to ensure that metabolic pathways are constantly active, requiring a wide range of macro and micronutrients to produce and activate the many enzymes that act in these processes. As we age, the efficiency of these metabolic pathways decreases, which probably affects the health of the skin, causing intensifying wrinkles, and increasing the incidence of psoriasis and weight gain,” explains the supplier of cosmetic ingredients.

Taking into account the importance of the mitochondrial detoxification process, which influences cell viability, maintenance and functionality of skin structures, as well as the lower probability of topical reactivity to chemicals, Chemyunion has developed MitoClean, an ingredient that “ensures the delivery of the micro and macronutrients required to stimulate mitochondrial detoxification in the skin, due to its phytochemical richness.

MitoClean is composed of vectorized coconut water powder, containing vitamins and minerals essential for the correct performance of the detoxification process in the skin. Rich in vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7 and B9, essential for the metabolic pathways of mitochondrial detoxification, MitoClean also features essential inorganic ions, such as selenium, zinc, copper, and manganese that work as catalysts of antioxidant skin enzymes.

According to Chemyunion, MitoClean provides the following benefits:

- Improves the mitochondrial detoxification of skin cells by 66%, ensuring cell viability and vitality;
- 2X more potent than vitamin E against mitochondrial radicals generated during the detox process;
- 51% more energy to skin cells, which stimulates the process of cellular detoxification;
- 25% increase in the skin natural antioxidant defense system.
