in-cosmetics Latin America to introduce new Spotlight On area

in-cosmetics Latin America 2018 will return to São Paulo this September with a brand new Spotlight On area covering the biggest topics in cosmetics today.

Comprising three product showcases investigating haircare actives, anti-ageing and formulation, each Spotlight On area will feature both an ingredient and a finished formulation display that corresponds to its relevant theme, allowing brands to test the benefits of these ingredients.

Haircare actives

Haircare is a major movement in Brazil. According to Euromonitor, the global haircare category grew 21.5% from 2011 to 2016 in value share, while Latin America grew 42% and Brazil 34.8% in the same period. The market is forecast to grow by 16.5% in retail value in Brazil, 14.2% in Latin America and 7.9% in the world by 2021. in-cosmetics Latin America’s Spotlight On haircare actives will enable visitors to find ingredients that provide tangible benefits to haircare and styling formulations.


The anti-ageing sector has undergone a meteoric rise in recent years with global and indie brands looking to capitalise on this trend by developing exciting new products. The global market is expected to reach $331.41bn by 2021, according to Orbis Research [1]. By putting the spotlight on this important area of the industry, chemists will find ingredients that prevent or fight the effects of ageing on skin, often caused by UV, pollution and blue light.


The final Spotlight On area will celebrate formulation. Designed to help manufacturers identify novel formulations crafted by leading suppliers and with innovation key to success in the beauty industry, this area will showcase dozens of new ideas to inspire NPD teams.

ITEHPEC will also host two half-day paid-for technical workshops, focusing on the transformation of the cosmetic, toiletry and fragrance sectors.
