Natura’s net income affected by the downturn in the Brazilian market

Natura’s consolidated net revenue increased by 6.6% to R$ 7.9 billion in 2015, compared to 2014. International operations of the cosmetics maker accounted for 29.2% of the total turnover in 2015 (compared to 19.2% in 2014).

The company’s net income dropped 30% in 2015 to R$ 513.5 million, compared to the same period of 2014. The result was affected by the economic recession in Brazil and the consecutive downturn of the cosmetics and toiletries market and by a substantial tax burden increase.

The company previously announced the opening of retail stores in 2016 and a partnership for the sale of its products in the Raia Drogasil drugstore chain.
