L’Occitane to open first factory in Brazil

L’Occitane do Brasil, the subsidiary of the French group L’Occitane (brands: L’Occitane en Provence, Melvita, Erborian and L’Occitane au Brésil), has announced the construction of a factory in Brazil. With this initiative, four years after the launch of the Franco-Brazilian brand L’Occitane au Brésil, the group intends to increase its participation in the Brazilian market and to attract more and more Brazilian customers. With China and Japan, Brazil is among L’Occitane’s largest markets both in terms of growth and participation in the overall turnover.

The plant will be located in the city of Itupeva (São Paulo), close to the Group’s Distribution Center in Brazil, and will occupy an area of 23 thousand square meters. The unit will focus on the production of the L’Occitane au Brésil lines, while the group intends to maintain partnerships with suppliers to develop certain categories.

The works are expected to start later this year, and operations in 2019. The company will perform a ground clearance ceremony of the plant in the first half of September.
