Hypermarcas completes sale of its cosmetics business to Coty

Hypermarcas S.A. yesterday (01 February 2016) announced that the sale of the company’s beauty business to Coty Inc. was completed pursuant to the conditions set in the Shares and Trademarks Sale and Purchase Agreement signed on November 2, 2015.

Hypermarcas added that it has received from the affiliates of Coty the remaining balance of the price, totalling the sale amount of 3.8 million reais, following the transfer to Coty of the totality of the shares corresponding to the capital stock of Novitá Distribuição Armazenamento e Transportes S.A. held by Hypermarcas.

Brands acquired by Coty include:

- Monange, a multi-category personal care brand (body care, hair care, female deodorant),
- Risqué, the market leader in nail polish in Brazil,
- Bozzano, the market leader in men’s care in Brazil,
- Paixão, largest skin care brand in Brazil,
- Biocolor, a best-selling hair colorant in Brazil.
