Group that owns Drogarias Pacheco and Drogaria São Paulo invest in their own products

Own-brand products are no longer the exclusive domain of large supermarket chains in Brazil. Drugstores have also invested in this strategy to attract clients - selling personal care products, cosmetics, accessories and vitamins. They promise the same quality of products manufactured by market leaders, but with more accessible prices.

After launching daily care products, Grupo DPSP presents its line for solar protection

Just like RaiaDrogasil - the largest drugstore chain in Brazil with over 1,450 stores and owner of brands such as Needs, B-Well, Triss and Pluii - Grupo DPSP is investing in its own products. The group was created in 2011 with the merger of Drogarias Pacheco and Drogaria São Paulo.

Last year, the group launched the brand Ever Care, with over 100 personal care products, such as Q-tips, cotton pads, liquid soap and intimate soap. In one year, the brand sold over 10 million units. The results led to a quick brand expansion including the recent launch of its solar protection products.

The solar line Ever Care is comprised of nine products and presents items specifically designed for the body, the face and for children, as well as a post-sun lotion and gel. With different protection factors (UVA/UVB), all products are water and sweat resistant and include vitamin E in their composition, bringing an extra amount of care for sun-damaged skin, according to DPSP.

The new products were launched before the summer season of 2019-2020 and will be part of a competitive market in Brazil. The country is the third largest consumer of solar protection items, behind only the United States and China. According to Euromonitor, last year the category generated R$ 3.4 billion in sales and the expectation is that it will reach R$ 4.7 billion in 2023, an annual growth of 6% on average.

The Ever Care line is sold in almost all of the 1,350 stores owned by the group and distributed in eight Brazilian states and the Federal District, as well as on the e-commerce platform for Drogarias Pacheco and Drogaria São Paulo.

Fragrance Trends: The impact of the mineral

A solid, inorganic and crystallized substance, minerals are derived from a natural geological process. In perfume- making, minerality is a subjective concept because there is no mineral family strictly speaking.
