Avon launches Brazil’s first wax-free lipstick

The Avon Ultra Color Revolution range uses hydrating gels in its formula and features a light texture, which claims to be more comfortable on the lips.

With an eye on innovation, Avon has introduced the first wax-free lipstick into the Brazilian market - Avon Ultra Color Revolution. The wax component has been replaced by hydrating gels that give a light texture, moisture and comfort to the lips. According to Avon, Brazil’s leading makeup company, the difference can be felt from the moment the lipstick is applied.

The gels that replicate the wax consistency are soft and pliable, allowing the lipstick to glide easily across the lips. The product also claims to reflect the light differently from traditional lipsticks. Its transparency allows the gel to boost the brightness of the selected colour.

Avon says the consumer will notice difference in the sensation, color impact and glossiness. Anthony Gonzalez, a scientist at Avon’s Global Research & Development Facility in Suffern, New York, says the new formula has been patented.

The Ultra Color Revolution lipsticks are available in 10 colors: Modern Pink, Vintage Rose, Elegant Mauve, Special Nude, Orchid Lilac, Vibrant Coral, Silk Rose, Mystery Carmine, Fatal Raspberry and Urban Rose. All of them have SPF 15 for protection against sun damage.

The product is available in Avon’s online store for R$ 19.99. Customers can also order it through one of Avon’s representatives or via online brochure.

Brazil is Avon’s largest operation worldwide, where the company has been a pioneer in direct sales since 1958. The portfolio of the cosmetics giant includes brands such as Avon Color, Renew, Skin So Soft, Advance Techniques e Naturals.
