Dufry do Brasil gets an ISO 14001 Certification

Dufry do Brasil announces the achievement of ISO 14001 certification, which is awarded to companies that have combine efficient operations with careful management of its environmental impacts.

The adoption of environmentally conscious strategies has become an increasingly relevant practice within the corporate segment. “Through the implementation of several initiatives, coordinated by an Environmental Management Committee and with the support from Dufry’s employees, the Company was able to change practices and processes in order to reduce the environmental impact from its operation,” the company said.

Among the most relevant actions, we can highlight the construction of a groundwater treatment facility, the optimization of the water and energy consumption and the creation of specific containers for waste collection.

José Carlos Rosa, Chief Operating Officer of Region America II, commented: "This process has not only been the first step in terms of establishing Dufry as an environmentally friendly company in the travel retail sector, but it also represents an important milestone in its commitment to continue being the best shopping choice for travellers all over the world."
