Dazzling design for Guerlain’s anniversary compact

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of its quintessential compact range, Guerlain chose to pack its Terracotta Sun Celebration in a luxurious wooden compact. As for previous editions, Technotraf Wood Packaging undertook the design and manufacture of this wooden compact.

Technotraf created the compact from sustainably-sourced beech wood, which was stained in a rich and dark brown with a silky smooth finish. The two-part compact has a high-end magnetic twist closure, with a twist and click movement designed to be highly intuitive. The top has a mirror built in for convenience. The sunburst powder design is replicated on a gold anodised plaque fixed to the top of the compact, for a look that’s pure luxury.

A subsidiary of the Quadpack Group, Technotraf Wood Packaging is headquartered near Barcelona, Spain, and is specializing in premium wooden packaging. The company is looking to expand its business beyond European markets and is targeting luxury and premium brands in Brazil and other countries in Latin America.
