Croda partners with PIC Química to boost its expansion plans in Latin America

Following the opening of a new distribution center and the investment of R$ 25 million in a plant in Campinas, northwest of São Paulo, the company now seeks to improve its distribution network in Brazil.

With over 90 years of history and present in 36 countries, Croda International is one of the world’s leading suppliers of specialty chemicals for products ranging from personal care and pharmaceuticals to additives for polymers and lubricants.

The company established itself in Brazil in the 1970s by operating primarily in the beauty and personal care industry. It currently develops raw materials for a wide variety of products, including makeup, deodorants, skin and hair care products, kids products and men’s grooming.

In early 2016, the opening of a distribution center valued at R$ 4 million in the city of Campinas, 85km northwest of São Paulo, was a kick-start to Croda’s new expansion strategy in Brazil and Latin America, with targets set until 2020.

The next step was the announcement of a R$ 25 million investment in infrastructure and the development of new technologies at its Campinas plant, in October last year.

The UK-based multinational is now turning its attention to the distribution and sale of its products in the region and has recently announced it has entered into a partnership with PIC Química. Founded in 1999 in the township of Itapevi, on the outskirts of São Paulo, the company has extensive experience in the cosmetics industry and will control Croda’s customer service, technical support throughout Brazil.

With this new strategy, Croda expects to operate closer to its customer base to meet their growing demands and unique requirements. The partnership also aims to reduce the company’s response time and increase its competitiveness in the domestic arena.
